Gerard is a cornerstone of the Detroit photography community. His talent goes far beyond the lens — he’s been a driving force behind projects like @ComposingDetroit and @DetroitPhotowalk, which bring people together through the shared love of photography.

I was lucky to meet G during a Composing Detroit show, and since then, I’ve become an admirer of his work and had the chance to collaborate with him on a few projects. I’m constantly inspired by his use of color, his ability to access and capture scenes most of us wouldn’t even notice, and his precise, thoughtful composition. Gerard’s photography is a stunning portfolio of what Detroit truly has to offer.

More than just a talented artist, Gerard is a special person to me. He opened the door to the photography community and welcomed me in. I’m proud to call him a friend—but above all, I’m humbled by both his character and his craft.
